Perfect ski day in the Kootenays

Thinking about the difference between what it might be like in Tokyo as opposed to Kaslo. We went for a two hour cross country ski with five friends, the drove home, sat in the hot tub looking out at the mountains, and now mid afternoon study the guide book. How different will life be?
